Your hiking companion for Norway — trails, cabins, weather, and avalanche safety.
Routes come from official and open trail data. A few trails don’t yet have marked-route geometry available, so we show the trailhead only rather than guess a path.
Weather and avalanche warnings are fetched live. If you’re offline, or a region has no current avalanche warning (common outside winter), those sections won’t appear.
On a trail’s screen, tap “Download for offline”. This saves the map tiles and trail content for that area so you can view them without a signal. Downloads stay until you delete the app.
Location shows your coordinates for safety, finds trails near you and gets weather for your area. While you record an activity it is read continuously, including in the background, so the track keeps building when your screen is off. See our Privacy Policy. You can turn it off in iOS Settings.
No. Browsing trails, viewing maps and recording an activity all work without signing in, and those recordings stay on your phone. An account is only needed to suggest edits, publish a trail or contribute a recording to the shared catalog.
Open Profile in the app and choose Delete account. Your account is deactivated immediately and permanently erased after 30 days, along with your uploaded recordings and published trails. If you can’t reach the app, email contact@fjordtrail.no and we’ll delete it for you.
No. Always check current conditions, carry a paper map and compass, tell someone your plan, and follow the Norwegian Mountain Code. In an emergency call 112 (police) or 113 (medical).

You can use Fjord Trail without an account, and recordings stay on your phone unless you choose to contribute them. If you create an account or contribute a route, we store what’s needed to run that on servers in Norway (within the EEA). We don’t sell your data or use third-party trackers.
